LA Marathon sees blazing heat, Ryan Hall drops out
The LA Marathon saw really hot conditions today. The race started at 6:55 a.m., 30 minutes earlier than originally planned due to the heat (women are given a ten-minute head start in the event and the men run them down).
The race has been growing rapidly with more and more elite runners showing up at the start line.

First place in the men’s race was Kenya’s Daniel Limo finishing with a time of 2:10:35 and Olga Kimaiyo (also from Kenya) won the women’s in 2:34:06.
American marathon record holder and two-time Olympian, Ryan Hall was looking to make a comeback after a DNF in New York and Boston but he dropped out midway through today’s race. His wife, Sara Hall, made her marathon debut today running a 2:48:02. It was a struggle for her as well, as she said battling cramps made it a more challenging race.
