The event is perhaps best-known for its announcer’s “down the back stretch” line, which is called during each race’s bell lap. Among the entrants for the McGill Team Challenge was Guillaume Ouellet, who represented Canada at the 2016 Rio Paralympic Games finishing fourth and ninth in the 5,000m and 1,500m, respectively. He ran 8:30 for 3K on Friday as the meet was open to university athletes as well as select non-university participants.
