If you’ve ever been tempted to suit-up for a run, MEC Halifax has the event for you.
At 8:00 a.m. on June 1, MEC is inviting anyone in the Dartmouth area to arrive in full office attire for a 5K group run. The run is organized as part of Commuter Challenge, a friendly event taking place during Canadian Environment Week (the first week of June) where Canadians are encouraged to leave the car parked in the garage and find healthier and more sustainable ways to get to work.
The run is open to anyone and will last until 9:00 a.m. where runners will get a chance to mingle at the MEC while enjoying post-run snacks. Spots will fill up though. So far, organizers have seen interests but have room for about 20 more people.
In case you’re wondering, large cell phones and briefcases are optional and full suits are encouraged. And if you want to run commute in regular running gear, check out our tips here.
