Female runners interested in racing the trails this summer will be pleased to take part in MEC Ottawa’s Women’s Trail Running Festival.

It’s happening on June 14 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Camp Fortune in Chelsea, Quebec. The event is designed to give the ins and outs of racing on the trail for women of all experience levels. It will be put on in partnership with Natural Fitness Lab.

The trail festival will include a panel discussion led by Lise Meloche and Michelle Power that will touch on coaching and training, preventing running induced injury, and racing tactics for the trail. Afterwards, women will attend an equipment seminar put on by MEC.

Of course, it wouldn’t be an in-depth trail running event without actually hitting the trails. As part of the event, women will participate in one of many groups runs. Those will cater towards a wide range of experience and fitness levels. To cap off the day, there will be a post-event filming.

Entry is $35.00 which includes the fee for running a MEC trail race on either July 5 or 19.
