Melissa Bishop has seen success in Ireland again.

Canada’s 800m star, who narrowly missed out on a medal last year in Rio, is showing that she’s focused on making the podium once again this summer at the IAAF World Championships in London.

Bishop headed to Ireland for the second winter in a row in order to race a couple of indoor meets in preparation for a demanding spring and summer. She’s now two-for-two on the Emerald Isle, having just won the AIT International Grand Prix in Athlone. Less than two weeks ago, Bishop also won the Camel City Elite 800m in 2:02.49

Up against six strong athletes, Bishop controlled the entire four laps of the 200m track, winning in a quick 2:01.42. This is the same meet where the Ontario runner broke the Canadian indoor 800m record last year by running 200:60 (three days later though, she raced in Scotland and broke her own freshly-set record by running 2:00.19).

Bishop also owns the Canadian outdoor record at 1:57.02.

Here’s the official results from the AIT International Grand Prix indoor 800m:
