Mississauga Marathon making final push for entries

Mississauga Marathon bills itself as "Canada's Most Runner Friendly Race" as it goes head to head with Toronto Marathon

The Mississauga Marathon, coming up on May 15, dubs itself  “Canada’s most runner friendly race.” With its scenic, slightly downhill course, low entry fees, pace bunnies for all different levels, and day long festivities after the race, the marathon  appeals to runners of all levels.

Organizers hope their approach will be able to attract enough runners to compete with the GoodLife Toronto Marathon, held on the same days as Mississauga. Toronto race director Jay Glassman told Canadian Running in a recent interview that he will move his race to a different weekend for subsequent years, so runners won’t be faced with conflicting events on the same weekend.
