Who to watch for at the upcoming OFSAA cross-country championships

OFSAA XC

OFSAA cross-country is many high school runner’s most anticipated race of the year. They build toward the event all summer, get excited weeks in advance and once they get there, it truly feels like they’ve made it to their own mini Olympics.

Cross-country races are some of the most competitive events you can run. Because there’s only one distance offered for each age group, the races combine every talented runner from the 800m through the 3,000m. On the track these high schoolers run separate events but on the XC course, they’re all in one race together. We’re only eight days away from the big event, so it’s time to take a look at who will likely run fast. Here are the top 20 individuals and top teams to watch for at the high school cross-country event of the fall.
