Ottawa gears up for affordable MEC race

Runners looking for a fun, affordable race may want to check out the MEC Ottawa Race Three on Sunday.

Run by MEC Ottawa (formerly known as Mountain Equipment Co-op), the race’s entry fee is just $15 if you pre-register, no matter what distance a runner chooses to complete. The race offers 5K, 10K and half marathon distances.

The races kick off starting at 8 a.m. on Sunday, June 30 at the W.E. Johnston Arena in Carp. It’s the first time MEC has held the half marathon in Ottawa.

The race offers early bird and race day draw prizes, as well as awards for the top three overall female and male finishers.

Not only is the race affordable (race day registration only goes up to $20), but runners can head into MEC after the race and receive 10% off a single purchase until the end of the day on June 30.
