Record numbers expected at Vancouver half marathon

A record 7,000 runners are expected to toe the line at the Scotiabank Vancouver Half-Marathon and 5K on Sunday, June 23. As part of the festivities, Vancouver Canuck forward Mason Raymond will be on hand to cheer on participants raising money for charity through the Scotiabank Charity Challenge.

A record 7,000 runners are expected to toe the line at the Scotiabank Vancouver Half-Marathon and 5K on Sunday, June 23.

As part of the festivities, Vancouver Canuck forward Mason Raymond will be on hand to cheer on participants raising money for charity through the Scotiabank Charity Challenge.

Participants will raise money for 71 community causes through the Scotiabank Charity Challenge. Raymond, who is honorary chair of the charity challenge, will encourage last minute donations to the 71 participating charities and cheer runners into the finish line.

Now in its 15th year, the Scotiabank Vancouver Half-Marathon starts at UBC’s Thunderbird Arena and heads onto Marine Drive, along the shores of the Burrard Inlet to the finish line in Stanley Park on the lawn of the Stanley Park Fish House.
