On a cool Mother's Day morning in both Toronto and Ottawa, runners kicked off Sunday with the Sporting Life 10K in support of Camp Oochigeas and CHEO.

Sporting Life 10K

Runners at the Sporting Life 10K were met with cool conditions on Mother’s Day morning in Toronto and Ottawa for one of the bigger road races in Ontario. The Sunday race, which raises money for Camp Oochigeas and CHEO, attracts thousands of runners every year, both of which are run in the downtown cores of Toronto and Ottawa.

Camp Ooch helps send kids to camp and provides an active, outdoor experience for children with cancer. CHEO is the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario.

Runners in Toronto began on Yonge Street, sometimes known as “Main Street Ontario” and considered one of the most recognizable roads in the city, and finished near Lake Ontario at Coronation Park. Abreham Wagaye won the men’s race in 30:17 and Brittany Moran was the top woman in 33:46.
