Thériault runners Czech out the competition
A group of six boys and six girls from a French-language high-school in Timmins, Ont. put in a strong showing for Canada at the ISSF Cross-Country World Schools’ Championship in the Czech Republic. The boys team from Ecole secondaire Thériault finished eighth out of 28 participating countries at the April 24 competition, led by Jean-Olivier Lambert, who ran the 5K course of 15:43, which was good for 21st place overall. Britney Allard was the top female, running the 3K course in 10:50 and finishing 24th out of 114 runners. The girls’ squad placed 11th out of 23 countries.
