Tsarnaev Dzhokhar was found guilty today of multiple charges Wednesday in relation to his involvement with the April 15, 2013 bombing of the Boston Marathon. He was found guilty of conspiracy to use a weapon of mass destruction, one of many verdicts which makes the 21-year-old American eligible to receive the death penalty.

In total Tsarnaev was found guilty of all 30 crimes he was charged with, 17 of which which are punishable by death. The trial will now move to its second phase where the jury will decide if he should face life in prison or death. Sentencing will begin on Monday.

He was found guilty of the death of three people, Krystle Campbell, Lu Lingzi, and Martin Richard, by pressure cooker bombs detonated at the finish line of the 2013 race. He was also found guilty of the death of Sean Collier, and MIT police officer.

The state of Massachusetts abolished the death penalty in 1984 and recent polls in Boston and the surrounding areas have suggested slightly more than half support Tsarnaev receiving life in prison over death.
