Weekend weather: Best and worst places to run in Canada

It wouldn’t be spring without a little rain showers. We kicked off spring yesterday and in many parts of the country, it’s looking like a fairly rainy weekend for runners. Sadly, sunshine will be pretty rare in Canada this weekend. And for runners living in northern parts of the country, spring isn’t a reality just yet.

Those living in northern Ontario are running through -20C weather. Cottage country will see flurries all weekend. Their eastern neighbours in northern Quebec are dealing with -25C temperatures with no sign of melting snow.

The Martimes are going to see a combination of snow/ rain storms. Runners will be zipping up those windbreakers. Anyone running in Newfoundland will be braving 100 kilometre-per-hour gusty winds.

As for the west, those living from Winnipeg to Edmonton will be expecting snow. B.C. won’t be getting much sunshine– the province will be wet and rainy. In terms of temperature though, Vancouver is 10C today.
