This weekend will see a mixed bag of weather for runners across the country. For many, the news is good.

Ontario is mostly clear and warm after spending much time hiding under rain clouds recently. The rain has cleared up and runners there can leave the rain jackets behind and cruise in sunny weather. The south part of the province is about 15C higher than last weekend so make sure to be careful when running in heat. Areas around Sudbury could see thunderstorms though with chillier temperatures than the rest of the province.

Quebec is experiencing stormy weather in the middle of the province. Moving south, it’s hot and muggy.

The Maritimes are expecting mild temperatures and both sun and cloud this weekend. It may not be ideal for all summer activities but it’s definitely great for running. Newfoundland is experiencing seasonal temperatures. The heavy rain from last night and this morning should clear up.

The Prairie provinces have a little bit of a cold front going on. Alberta especially will see temperatures drop. That’s leftover from thunderstorms that have cleared up recently. Saskatchewan is still expecting storms though which could move in this evening. Air quality warnings are in place for this section of Canada though so if you’re living in the middle of the county, it’s best to take precautions especially if asthmatic.

B.C. is expecting hot weather right now. Places of the province are hitting temperatures well above the 30s. The temperatures will only be climbing. Vancouver is to be well above 30C by tomorrow. Because of the heat wave, there is a province-wide ban on fires. Water restrictions are also in place.
