Calum Neff will be pushing his four-year-old daughter in a stroller at the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon Sunday in a record attempt.

Canadian Calum Neff and his daughter Alessandra could be Guinness World Record holders by Sunday afternoon.

The Katy, Texas resident will be running with his four-year-old daughter at the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon in an attempt to break the world record for fastest marathon run while pushing a stroller. Neff owns the world record for fastest half-marathon with a stroller, which he accomplished with his younger daughter, Holland.

Michael Wardian holds the world record currently, which he set in 2007. The world-leading mark is 2:42:21 but Neff will be going for a sub-2:32 performance on Sunday in Toronto.

The 34-year-old Neff has a lifetime best in the marathon of 2:22 and ran collegiately with the University of Houston. Guinness officials will be on hand in Toronto for runners to set world records on the spot rather than having to go through a lengthy process of ratification.

In February, Neff ran a 1:11:21 half-marathon in Katy, Texas to set the current half-marathon world record with a stroller. If he is in top shape, a performance around 2:30 is not out of the cards.

Canadian Running caught up with Neff and his daughter before the race to learn the story behind the stroller. CR will be providing live updates of the race on Sunday morning.
