It was a chance for fans to ask the 32-year-old, considered one of the great marathoners of all time, some interesting questions. One person asked “what toothpaste do you use?” citing Kipchoge’s white smile. A number of people were curious about how the Kenyan stayed so relaxed and calm while running 2:51 per kilometre during the sub-two-hour marathon attempt on Saturday in Italy. Check out the video for his answer to that and more. (The 2:00:25 time was not IAAF record-eligible because of the pacing strategy and nutrition handouts involved.)

During the Q&A, Kipchoge says that every day for the past 14 years, he has recorded his training in a written journal. Kipchoge adds that he grew up in Kenya running barefoot. Interestingly, on race day in Milan, Italy for the Breaking2 event, Kipchoge says the hardest part was waking up at 2 a.m. as there was a 5:45 a.m. start time.
