VIDEO: Team Canada releases Rio 2016 video 100 days out from Olympics

With 100 days to go before Rio, Team Canada has just come out with a video reminding us what it’s really like to be a Canadian athlete training hard for the 2016 Olympics. (See how much the Games have changed in 120 years.) Canada is full of talented athletes prepping to excel at their sport and ultimately compete for a podium place this year. Today on their Twitter feed is a video reminding us all that our Canadian identity– and the conditions in which we train– has played a significant role in shaping each athlete’s road to Rio.

The video shows athletes from a variety of sports training in (and persevering through) Canada’s winter weather. “The Brazilian sun is a world away. This is our beach,” it says. “The winter makes us who we are.”

The Olympic Games are coming up. It’s time to get excited for our athletes. There’s perhaps no better time to feel proud to be Canadian.
