Reigning New York City Marathon champion Shalane Flanagan makes an appearance in a Super Bowl commercial.

The American marathoner and 2008 Olympic silver medallist over 10,000m stars in Michelob Ultra’s “I Like Beer” ad alongside actor Chris Pratt, golfer Brooks Koepka and surfer Kelly Slater. “I had to let [Parks and Recreation, Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic World star] Chris Pratt win,” Flanagan, who is featured as one of the competitors in a race within the commercial, says.

Super Bowl LII is Feb. 4 in Minneapolis (whose mayor is a 2:16 marathoner) between the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles. Justin Timberlake will play the halftime show.

Per her Instagram post from last week, Flanagan, who grew up in Marblehead, Mass., will be cheering for the Patriots. (Marblehead is less than an hour drive from where the Patriots play home games.) Flanagan is entered in the 2018 Boston Marathon.
