VIDEO: South Africa’s Two Oceans Marathon releases promo video

The Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon in Cape Town, South Africa, claims to be the world’s most beautiful race – and based on this 9-minute race promo video, that might just be true. The main event, which dates back to 1970, is not actually a marathon distance, but a 56K ultra, but there are various other events such as a half-marathon during the Easter weekend festivities.

With the popularity of YouTube, races are increasingly relying to promotional videos to spread the word about their events. The Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon, for example, was an early adopter of this strategy with this 2007 montage:
