If you’re looking for a running companion or a partner to join you while cross-country skiing, the most common avenue is to call up a friend. A second choice may be bringing along a canine.

But in this case, a cat seems like it may be an ideal training partner.

Jesper, a two-year-old male cat, is arguably the world’s best house cat for running and cross-country skiing. One could even say he’s “purr-fect” as an exercise companion.

Jesper the cat, a resident of Hedmark, Norway but more specifically, a resident of owner Aina Stormo‘s home, acts more like a dog as seen in the video posted below (click to play).

Jesper the cat has attracted a huge social following since becoming popular in the running and cross-country skiing communities. Jesper has more than 30,000 likes on his Facebook page and the video has been seen more than seven million times.

Who knows, maybe we’ll see Jesper the cat complete a half-marathon just like this canine did last month.
