VIDEO: Footage of backwards running reversed, hilarity ensues

Footage from the 2010 U.K. Backwards Running Championships has re-surfaced after being edited and reversed in order to make it look as though the runners are facing forwards.

The runners are seen frequently glancing behind them while running. Now it looks like the racers are afraid of being chased by an angry mob.

The video has been seen by more than 240,000 viewers since being uploaded on Oct. 26, 2015.

The footage was taken from the inaugural 2010 U.K. Backwards Running Championships in Manchester with the one-mile event won by Ireland’s Garret Doherty in 6:30 per Metro UK. It’s safe to say the race didn’t require a sprint finish to determine the overall champion.

According to Doherty, “Backwards running is like a drug, once you start, you’ll never want to run forwards again.”
