Canadian sprint legend Donovan Bailey stars in the latest episode of Mr. D, a sitcom on the CBC, as Gerry Dee and Bailey duel it out in a foot race.
Donovan Bailey, one of the best Canadian sprinters of all-time, was featured on the latest episode of Mr. D on Tuesday with the full episode now available for viewing online. Mr. D, a Canadian sitcom, stars Gerry Dee, a Canadian actor and stand-up comedian, and follows his life as an under-qualified school teacher.

According to the CBC, the episode has the following synopsis: “When Gerry learns that former Olympic champion Donovan Bailey is coming to town, he’s determined to seek retribution for a long-standing bone he has with the track star.”

Dee, a Scarborough, Ont. native, writes, directs and stars in the show, which began in January 2012, and has been renewed for a sixth season. The episode with Bailey was the sixth episode of the fifth season.
Bailey holds the Canadian record in the men’s 100m (9.84, tied with Bruny Surin since 1999) and won gold medals in the 100m and 4x100m relay at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta.
