It seems as though more and more runners are using Strava to log their training and subsequently share those statistics with hundreds, if not thousands, of users. The social media platform, which is free to use, offers athletes the chance to follow some of the biggest names in the sport.
Keeping it trail-specific, we’ve compiled some accounts that you may want to follow. (The list is by no means exhaustive.)
Note that Strava has a dedicated page for professional athletes, which are recognized on the social media platform with a small orange icon next to their name.
This list includes more than just Canadian trail runners including those from the United States as well as a select few from around the world. See here for a Canadian-specific, albeit not trail-limited, list of accounts to follow on Strava. Click on the athlete’s name to be redirected to his or her Strava account.
Thankful for a flat section at the end of Tarawera Ultramarathon… It was a time to flow and get the race done and in the books. Although I am fortunate to live close to some of the most beautiful mountains in the world and I have a career that allows me some flexibility with my schedule – I also (counter-)balance that with life in the corporate world. On days when I find myself in the city I love trying to link up as many urban trail systems and paths as I can. There is a fun sense of micro-adventure to it and you certainly get to see a different side of the city that way 📸 by Dave Holland #yyc
It's starting to feel a bit more like running season for me these days and so I was excited to see my name on the start list again for this year's Mt. Marathon Race in Seward Alaska. It might be about time to start preparing my legs for the descent! Photo from last year's race by @seth.d.adams @lasportivana #mtmarathon
Thanks @rlassen for my favorite race photo! My PLOOF racing crew really wanted a summit kiss at mile 20 of the Way too Cool 50K–so lucky to have this crew in racing and in life! . . #trailrunning #running #instarunners #california #race #workoutmotivation #optoutside #adventure #hokaoneone #trainhard
