Just as performance enhancing drug revelations from the fall of 2014 were fading from the news, another Kenyan marathoner has failed a doping test.

According to Standard Digital, the most popular newspaper in Kenya, another “fairly famous” athlete from the country has tested positive for PEDs. The athlete is not named, but is said to have won two major marathons in the past year, narrowing down the possibilities to only a handful of top-calibre athletes from the country.

The IAAF is said to have contacted Athletic Kenya about the matter but Athletics Kenya would not comment on the matter to the local newspaper.

Only last week Athletics Kenya Central Rift secretary Benjamin Kipkoech Limo stepped down from his position over internal issues. He cited doping problems and an unwillingness to fight them within the organization as two reasons for his departure.

In the fall of 2014 Rita Jeptoo, 2013 and 2014 winner of the Boston and Chicago marathons, failed a doping test for EPO and was handed a two-year ban by Athletics Kenya.
