His exaggerated lean caused him to collapse over the finish line, missing out by 0.11 seconds as Wilcox won the race in 2:15.90. A mix of lactic in his legs and his lean resulted in a near photo-finish as men over 60 were featured as part of the world championships.
Both were in good spirits after though and gave each other a congratulatory handshake.

Both athletes celebrated with a lap of honour on Saturday afternoon.

The finish line scene wasn’t the only eye-catching moment at the world indoor championships. Also on Saturday, American pentathlete drilled a photographer with a shot put hitting him in the shin (he was okay). Click here to see the full video of that incident.
