The Catalonia trails and alpine appear challenging, diverse, and beautiful all at once. The race runs through Aigüestortes and Lake Sant Maurici National Park–the only national park within Catalonia. Located in the heart of the Pyrenees, the race showcases an excellent example of the typical ecosystems found in these high mountain areas, unique to southern Europe.

The video highlights Johanna Astrom of Sweden and Holly Page (2018 course record holder) of the UK racing to second and third, while Jonathan Albon of the UK and Zaid Ait Malek of Morocco race to second and third in the men’s race. The top athletes are seen using a variety of race tactics such as poles, power hiking, and advanced skills on technical descents.
