First place finishes for Ormond, Lee at Nike Rowland Games

Chau second, breaks own record at 3000m invitational at Etobicoke's Centennial Park

Cameron Ormond was the winner of the girls’ 3,000m invitational at the Nike Rowland Games yesterday in 9:25.86, smashing Jocelyn Chau’s meet record of 9:31.21, set in 2016. Chau, however, was hard on her heels in second place, and also broke her own record, with a time of 9:27.34.

On the boys’ side, Campbell Lee was first. Newmarket, Ont.’s Nicholas Mota was second, and London South’s Evan Burke third.

Lee was the winner of the National Cross Country Championships held in Kingston, Ont. in November 2017.

Ormond, who attends Aurora High School, is a three-time OFSSA cross country champion. 

Chau, who has won the Rowland Games 3,000m race twice, attends De La Salle College and is off to Yale University in the fall.
