A research group in Japan has created a new, compact, wearable blood flow sensor that can detect dehydration in real time.

The group from Kyushu and Tokyo Universities has developed the sensor that takes measurements while you move. It’s wireless, ultra-compact and requires little power. It detects dehydration in real time by measuring blood flow when a person is running.

It’s not just for blood flow either; the research group says it can measure blood pressure as well. Watch a video of how it works here.
