Another successful training week in the books. It was my second highest mileage week this build-up and it also included a full 42.2km session.

This weekend was one of my big tests before the marathon and it came in the form of a half marathon in Virginia Beach, VA.

Before my build-up I thought I was going to peak my weekly mileage at 240km (149 miles), well that’s not going to happen.

As happy as I am with my performance in the 10 miler yesterday I can’t help but compare my time to last year when I ran 9 seconds faster.

Big road trip this weekend… 4 days, 1400 km (driving), 2 countries, 1 bachelor party, 105 km (running), 1 wedding.

No marathon build-up comes without walls and I just have to deal with them. The first week was good, the second not so much…

Well I met you at the blood bank

One week of marathon training under the belt. The week started out really well and kind of got challenging towards the end. Monday and Thursday were our workout days and they both went well.

Sometimes I just have to throw out the watch and not worry about pace/time. One of those runs happened this morning and understandably so.
