Back of my neck getting dirty and gritty

Here is a video of the July 17 workout where we did an hour run followed by an hour of tempo and a short cool-down.

Well that was a nice re-introduction to the track… now I want to race the 5000m at Nationals. I probably actually would double back but I’m happy to get on with the marathon training ahead.

Even Flow

Watching the World Cup Final is the perfect way to relax and recover after this morning’s Acura 10 Miler in Toronto. Unfortunately I had to miss the first mountain stage of Le Tour this morning but it was well worth it for a solid effort over parts of the Scotiabank Waterfront Marathon course I’ll be running at the end of September.

Dog Days Are Over

The Peachbud 10km went fairly well last night. I won in 29:34 and felt strong at the end of the race, it didn’t hurt that the last 2km were downhill and with the wind.

Last week as I was running up a rather long and steep hill with the Kenyans we started talking about hill workouts. I said I always wanted to do a workout on this particular hill and was thinking 6-7 repeats would be a good start…. the Kenyans had other plans.

I raced the Ancaster Old Mill 10km last night and won in 30:35. In order to run that course fast you need to be aggressive on the downhills and tough on the uphills, I was neither aggressive nor tough.

Guelph Mid-Distance Inferno June 5th 7pm

The last stop of the 401 Distance Series is happening this Saturday (June 5th) at St. James High School in Guelph. The night will start off at 7pm with 600m races and then a Women’s 1500m and Men’s Mile.

I officially graduated from cross-trainer to runner last week on the basis that I spent more time running than I did on the bike and pool combined.

We’ve all seen enough, now it’s time to decide

My motivation to run pain-free has trumped the drive to be ready for an early-season 10,000m. Therefore I have decided to take a little time off and completely heal my tendons.

This injury is lingering much longer than I anticipated. It’s been 19 days since I’ve been injured and 15 days since my last run. And therein lies part of the problem.
