I lay close to the edge, I guess I didn’t know the ledge….

It has been one week since my last run due to my shin injury. It seems the tendons running from my foot to my leg have become inflamed. The sheath around the tendon is what is most likely causing the pain which is known as tenosynovitis.

Signed myself out today

It looks as if my 2010 outdoor track debut has been postponed. I was scheduled to race on Friday at Stanford in the 10 000m but my tibialis anterior is telling me ‘no’.

Ides of March

For the past three months I’ve been doing one tempo session, one fartlek (or track), one light speed session, two mileage days, one easy day and a long run each week (12 runs/week).

The smarter it gets the further it’s going to go

Yesterday I did a key 10 000m workout on the track. Chris and Dave shovelled two lanes of the track on Wednesday to clear enough space for an early season session.

Sometimes I feel like throwing my hands up in the air

The McGill 3000m was the definition of a ‘rust-buster’. In the past two years it was my first indoor race, first race track race under 10km, and first race in spikes.

Got nowhwere to (water) run

Once the snow covers the trails runners are forced to hit the roads. Even though roads are built for cars 99% of drivers have the good sense to move their steering wheel one inch to make room for a runner because they know there is plenty of room.

Gonna try again tomorrow

I put off writing a blog for a few days in hopes of delivering better news about my running. Thankfully the last few days have gone well and I’m back on track, (pun intended).
