An Air Jordan running shoe?

Jordan Brand, a company known more for designing basketball shoes, will release their first running shoe, the Flight Runner, on May 1.

The company, recently unveiled pictures of the shoes and some high-profile NCAA basketball teams were also wearing them before games throughout the March Madness tournament.

Although the branching into running seems odd for a company usually associated with basketball, the brand falls under the Nike umbrella, meaning it has a long, deep history of running shoe technology and knowledge to call upon for their designs.

The Flight Runner uses Nike’s dynamic fit technology that the company has used in many of their recent running shoes. It also features a zoom foam sole and a new fused mesh forefoot upper to help with ventilation.

The shoes carry a suggested retail price of USD $110.
