Olympic triathlete Andrew Yorke wins snowy Egg Nog Jog

The retired triathlete is still in great running shape

Andrew Yorke

Since retiring from competitive triathlon earlier this year, 2016 Olympian Andrew Yorke has been busy exploring new interests — coaching, and becoming a police officer in the province of Ontario — but he’s also kept up his running and has participated in local road races around his native Caledon, Ont.

On Dec. 10, Yorke competed in the Egg Nog Jog in Georgetown, a unique 10.8K race, which he won in 38:13. Averaging 3:33 min per K, Yorke came in a minute ahead of runner-up Nicholas Schwass and almost three minutes before half distance specialist and pro triathlete Taylor Reid.

Kathryn Dean won the women’s race in 45:28, ahead of Alanna McMaster and Amanda Charlton.
