Organizers for the Pan American Games released four-quarter financial reports and claim to be under budget less than one year from the start of the Games.

Up to this point, the organizing committee claims to have spent just under $127 million, about 16 per cent of it’s operating budget. still, the bulk of the costs for the Games will come next summer within the two months on either side of the event.

Toronto and the surrounding municipalities are seeing lots of construction of new sport facilities, most notable to runners being a complete renovation of the Toronto Track and Field Centre at York University.

Also under construction are a new velodrome in Milton and a large renovation to the aquatics facility at the University of Toronto. Also, a new stadium is being built in Hamilton which will serve as the soccer venue for the Games and after will be used as the home field for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

The Games are working on a total operating budget of $810 million. It is unusual for large multi-sport events to come in under budget when all is finished.

The opening ceremonies of the event is scheduled for July 10, 2015.
