Little Beast is a four per cent light lagered ale with low bitterness, subtle hops and a bit of saltiness, according to the North End Runners. “The brew crew used rice syrup as a nod to classic German and Japanese lagers like Sapporo and to make it real crisp and sweetly crushable at the trailhead after a long rip on granite outcrop,” the club wrote on Instagram.

Beer label description

“Your true nature howls to you from the trailhead, thirsty for sun-drenched singletrack under fast paws. Leaping granite. Diving past forest firs. Sweet, clean summer air gets you flying. Dig those wild pretty things on the hunt. You’re running with the pack now. Best enjoyed after a long trail run with the #nertimberwolves [North End Runners Timberwolves].”

The North End Runners, a club founded in 2013, meet every Wednesday at the North Brewing Company just south of North Street in Halifax. The group also hosts Friday workouts during the summer.
