Aileen Meagher to stream live Tuesday night

The second leg of Canada’s elite track and field circuit is set for Tuesday night in Halifax.

The Aileen Meagher International Track Classic tonight will feature some of Canada’s top talent and international athletes. It’s the second of five meets in the National Track League.

The meet will give two local Nova Scotia athletes a shot at qualifying for the upcoming Pan American Games in Toronto. Geoff Harris, a 2012 Olympian over 800m and Jenna Martin-Evans, an Olympic teammate of Harris’s who raced the 400m at the Games, will be looking for times which qualify them for upcoming competition in their respective disciplines. Harris is a native of Halifax and Martin-Evans of Bridgewater.

The meet, scheduled to start at 6 p.m. local time, can be watched live on Athletics Canada’s new streaming service, Athletics Canada TV. The meet will begin with the international section of the women’s 100m hurdles and conclude with the men’s international 800m, which Harris will race in.
