Ethiopia's Meseret Defar narrowly missed setting a world indoor record in the 5000m, at a race in Stockholm on Wednesday.

Ethiopia’s Meseret Defar narrowly missed setting a world indoor record in the 5000m, at a race in Stockholm on Wednesday.

She ran 14:24.79, just 0.42 seconds off her world record time of 14:24.37, which she set at the same meet last year. She was ahead of pace for most of the race, before fading ever so slightly over the final 200m.
