Leaving few people with excuses of not having enough time to train, Mark Carney, on top of his role as Governor of the Bank of England, has finished the London Marathon. Tasked with keeping the Bank of England in order, Carney finished the race on Sunday and raised £71,000 for Cancer Research UK.

The former Governor of the Bank of Canada, and considered one of the top global financial figures, finished the marathon in 3:31:35, bettering his time from the 2011 Ottawa Marathon by over 16 minutes. According the The Telegraph, the Canadian is known around London for waking up early to run the streets and sometimes opting to run into work rather than drive.

The Bank of England Governor ran as a member of a team of prominent financial and business personalities in London called The City. They all raised money for Cancer Research UK. Carney’s £71,000 – about $130,000 – included donations from other prominent business figures.

The 50-year-old took over the position as Governor of the Bank of England in July of 2013. He is credited with steering Canada away from the worst of the 2008 financial crisis during his time in Ottawa.
