In the opening meeting of the 2015 Diamond League professional track and field circuit, double Olympic and world champion Mo Farah of the United Kingdom was upset over 3,000m by rising Ethiopian star Hagos Gebrhiwet, who finished second to Farah over 5,000m at the 2013 world championships. The race was held in Doha, Qatar.

Gebrhiwet took to lead in the final turn of the race and held off a kicking Farah to win in a world-leading 7:38.08 to Farah’s 7:38.22.

The next Diamond League meeting will be held in Shanghai on Sunday, May 17. The entire series hosts 14 stops around the world with large prizes athletes who score the most points over the course of the season.
