Ottawa nude runner Popadick pleads guilty

Nude runner Donald Popadick pleaded guilty Thursday to mischief after, on multiple occasions, being seen running through Ottawa’s Mooney’s Bay last April with no clothing.

The naked runner was seen by five different people before being arrested wearing nothing but his heart rate monitor.

Popadick offered to serve three years of probation to gain a conditional discharge and avoid a criminal record, which the judge granted.

“Undoubtedly it was disturbing for these women to have to, you know, encounter you under those circumstances,” Judge Matthew Webber told the Ottawa Sun. “You have volunteered and I have taken you up on it.”

The aptly-named runner made it onto the popular Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon after being picked up by the police last spring. Popadick’s family claims to have suffered public ridicule from the unfortunate link between his actions and last name.
