NYRR produce weekly running web show

The 20+ minute show will air a new episode free to watch online each Wednesday leading up to the NYC Marathon.

The New York Road Runners are known to be one of the most innovative running clubs in North America, and they’ve upped the ante yet again with a new webseries entitled “On the Run”.

The slick production had it’s debut Sept. 28, airing a 20+ minute television-like program that focuses both elite and recreational runners around the United States. The first episode centres around the Fifth Avenue Mile, a NYRR organized race that was ran last weekend down one of the main thoroughfares of Manhattan. The race saw more than 5,000 runners compete, including American elites Bernard Lagat and Matthew Cetrowitz, as well as Canadian phenom Cam Levins.

There will be a new webisode of “On the Run” released each Wednesday leading up the the New York City Marathon on November 4. The show is hosted by Karla Bruning, a journalist and runner who also writes a blog about running (RunKarlaRun.com).

Future episodes promise to feature Meb Keflezighi, Shalane Flanagan and Goucher, who will all be competing in New York. Bruning has said that the show will also provide “perspectives on the state of the sport from some of the biggest names in the running media.”

Every episode will be streamable as it becomes available, both at ontherun.org and on the NYRR’s YouTube page.
