A running shoe believed to have belonged to high school teacher Jeffrey Boucher went missing in January has been found along the lakeshore in his home town of Whitby, Ont..

The shoe was found by a woman walking along the shore on March 11, but police have withheld information until today to verify that the shoe is his.

Boucher went missing in January during what is presumed to have been his morning run. He was an avid runner and ran for one to two hours each morning before work. His family believes he went to bed the night before he went missing, but no one actually saw him in the morning before he left for his run.

An extensive search followed which led to very little information surrounding the disappearance of the Whitby man.

Police have not released any further information about the shoe, its condition or other evidence gathered at the scene, although they are preparing for a new search of the area.
