Usain Bolt isn’t ruling out competing at the 2020 Olympics

After hinting that he would retire after the 2017 IAAF World Championships, Usain Bolt is now considering competing at the 2020 Olympics.

Since Usain Bolt is not yet retired, we can’t quite call this announcement a comeback.

But Bolt, the 100m and 200m record holder, hinted at the possibility of extending his career to 2020 and the Summer Olympics in Tokyo.

The Jamaican is the most decorated sprinter of all time and initially planned on ending his career following the 2017 IAAF World Championships in London.

“We’ll see, because the coach says I can go on to even the next Olympics in 2020,” said in a recent on air interview. ““I’m not going to say what I’m going to do, but my coach said I should stop talking about retirement.”

Bolt would be 34 at the time of the 2020 Olympics. The Puma-sponsored athlete will be 30 this summer when he competes the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio.

He’s the reigning Olympic champion in the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m relay and won gold in all three of the sprint events at the IAAF World Championships last summer in Beijing.

Bolt has been sponsored by Puma since he was a teenage phenom with the footwear giant having signed Canadian sprinter Andre De Grasse in December.

Bolt is currently on the shelf for a few weeks having suffered an ankle injury last week, according to L’Equipe.
