Inspirational mountain running video captures addictive nature of the runner’s lifestyle

This new video is spreading through the running community like wildfire and it's bound to get you itching to check off today's run.

A new running video just published to YouTube on Wednesday is bound to have runners itching to get out the door.

Titled “My Addiction” the video was posted by Casey Neistat and it shows him running through rugged, technical terrain on a cliff-side route. As Neistat picks off the kilometres, the words on the screen explain the reasons why runners feel a strong need to stick to the lifestyle.

As the video emphasizes, it’s not always about racing or beating out competitors. Rather, Neistat frames it as an addiction and without the “daily fix” a day is just not the same. It’s about putting ability to the test, exploring new sights, and not allowing lethargy to get the best of you.

Though his video was posted just yesterday, it has been spreading like wildfire through the running community. Already, it has received nearly 1,800,000 views.

If you’re in need of a little motivation to get outdoors today, this could be it. Or, if you’re in a running rut, this may just inspire you to take to the trail community.
