VIDEO: Mesmerizing bird’s-eye view of Chicago Marathon runners

Photographer Paul Octavious uses a drone to capture an overhead shot of runners early in the Chicago Marathon

Acclaimed Chicago-based photographer Paul Octavious captured a sweet overhead shot of his city’s marathon on Sunday. Octavious, who has worked with Nike, Wired, Print, the Wall Street Journal, Mercedes, Hermès, and the New York Times, among others, filmed runners crossing over the Chicago River near the start of the Chicago Marathon.

Octavious shared the video to his more-than 540,000 Instagram followers. (In 2012, he had 37,000 followers.) The photographer wrote in a comment that he used a drone to capture the overhead footage, which has been seen 69,000 times.
