Review: Adidas Springblade

Springblade1The Springblade is a curious new direction for Adidas. According to the company, the shoe took six years to develop. The standout feature is its 16 plastic blades. Adidas says that these blades will deliver significant energy return.

This shoe is in many ways the exact opposite of another big release by Adidas – their Boost technology that can be found in many of their light weight trainers and racing flats.

At 371 g, the Springblade is a heavy shoe. Our testers did notice that it felt quick and comfortable regardless of the bulk, and did seem to deliver on its promise of a springy return. This is a fun shoe, and it is ideal as a periodic trainer for larger runners looking to shake up in their workouts.
