Canadian teams race in IAAF World Relays
This weekend, more than 500 of the world’s finest athletes, representing over 40 countries, will gather in Nassau, Bahamas for the IAAF World Relays. With a total of 1.4 million dollars (with the possibility of a world record bonus) and automatic qualification for the 2015 IAAF World Championships in Beijing on the line, the competition is set to be fierce.
Canada will be sending men’s and women’s teams to participate in the 4x100m and 4x400m events. The Canadian men’s 4×100 team were bronze medalists last year in the 2013 IAAF World Championships. The women’s 4×100 team set a Canadian record in heats last year to snag a spot in the final for the first time since 1999. With many of the same athletes back again, this year should provide as much excitement.
A live stream of events will be available through the IAAF Magazine YouTube Channel. See below for a schedule of when the Canadians are due to compete.
