Rob Krar shares his Western States Strava data

Rob Krar, a native to Hamilton, Ont. who now resides in Flagstaff, Ariz., won the illustrious Western States 100-mile race last weekend in a time of 14:53:22, the second fastest in the event’s history.

Yesterday, Krar posted his Strava race data on his Twitter page @RobKrar for all the world to see:

As can clearly be seen, the race features several significant elevation changes with an overall net downhill. This is why his paces vary from 6:20 (the fastest) to 19:30 per mile (the slowest), although one would expect that the slower miles also involved a stop or break of some kind.

All in all, the data indicate that Krar covered a total distance of 98.2M (158K) in a time of 14:31:26 (moving time) which equates to roughly a 9:03/mile or 5:35/K average pace.
