Nine gifts only runners would be excited to receive

Got a runner in the family? Come holiday time, runners are incredibly easy to shop for. Runners love objects that, to the non-runner, may seem incredibly mundane. Don’t overthink the stocking stuffers. The below items may seem boring but trust us, if anyone would be excited about these, it’s your loved one who runs.

A tub of Vaseline. Get this for your runner friend and he/she will be so glad. A tub of Vaseline has so many uses for the runner. Runners use it as lip balm, to prevent windburn in winter, and to soothe red and chapped noses from those harsh winter runs. It’s a great alternative when the body glide runs out and a lot of runners put it on their feet to prevent blisters.

Mini deodorant. You can never have enough deodorant and runners need several– one for the gym bag, one at home, one at the office if they are a run commuter. Runners go through the stuff pretty fast.

All the socks. This is the token boring Christmas gift but anyone in the running community will LOVE getting tons of socks as a gift. This is one piece of gear that is always getting lost or worn out. Runners are hard on their feet so this is a practical gift that will get a lot of use. One the fence about whether or not they will like the cheesy running socks? The answer is yes.

Gels. Think giving gels would be a lame gift? Wrong. The key is to give your runner friend tons of choice with the gels. Think maple syrup gels or caffeinated gels or go for something weird like bacon flavour… because that’s a thing.

Multiple Buffs. This piece of gear never gets old and is one of the easiest ways to spice up an outfit. Seriously, one Buff can be worn as a neck-warmer, headband or hat and can be used for hot or cold weather. Can’t go wrong.

A blender. When runners are not running, they’re blending. It might seem like runners have a pre-run shake followed by a post-run smoothie and then are always creating barely recognizable desserts like blended frozen bananas with other fruits. Runners always have the blender out and would be thrilled to get a high quality one.

Hair elastics. Lady runners run out of these fast. Don’t ask how, but they do. Get your sister or mom tons of crazy coloured elastics to keep their ponytails in place.

Gloves with toweled “snot wipers.” Seriously, whoever first started adding panels of fleece fabric to athletic gloves to mop up drippy noses was really thinking. We all use our gloves to wipe runny noses on the run. Having something extra soft on the gloves is key.

Facial wipes. We runners run to work, we run to the bar, we run to the gym, you get it. It’s nice to be able to freshen up when arriving at the destination. For that, facial wipes are the answer.
