The Canadian University (CIS) Cross-Country Championships were Saturday in Quebec City. The event, which will be known as the U Sports Cross-Country Championships beginning in 2017, featured the country’s top university runners and programs.

Laval hosted the event on the Plains of Abraham with Yves Sikubwabo winning the individual men’s 10K on his home course and Queen’s University athlete Claire Sumner winning the women’s 6K. Laval won the men’s team title, the first in program history, and Guelph won its 12th consecutive CIS Cross-Country Championship.
